Our international Automation Engineering team is looking for a new talent, starting at the earliest possible time as Scientist (m/f/d) Lab Automation and Liquid Handling in our sequencing laboratory in Leipzig.

What You Will Do
- Oversee workflows related to high throughput NextGeneration Sequencing.
- Script automated workflows on liquid handling systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, usability and quality of existing systems and workflows.
- Participate in the development and implementation of workflow improvements.
- Develop, evaluate and test customized automation technologies/ platforms.
- Work collaboratively with the lab teams to build efficient automated workflows.
- Work in an agile environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- PhD in Molecular Biology, (Bio)Chemistry, or similar subject or Master´s degree with at least 3 years of experience.
- Knowledge of NextGeneration Sequencing (NGS) and related processes is an advantage.
- Hands-on assay automation and liquid handling experience With the ability to create, validate, optimize and maintain processes on liquid handlers.
- Understanding of laboratory techniques and assay development.
- Familiarity with high-throughput screening methodologies.
- Experience with programming automated systems (e.g., Hamilton Star, Hamilton Vantage, Beckman FX/NX, Tecan Evo).
- Experience in converting bench top or semi-automated into fully automated assays.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality control standards in a laboratory environment is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Energetic and self-motivated. Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively in a global organization.
- Organized and independent.
- Team player.
- Fluent written and spoken in German and English, good knowledge of another language is a plus.
