How You'll Make an Impact

The role of Sales Operations is a support function to the sales team, removing barriers to enable the sales organization to run effectively, efficiently and in support of business strategies and objectives. 

 

The Sales Operations Associate, as part of the Sales Operations Team at GENEWIZ, will work closely alongside the sales representatives and sales management and will assist in all support areas of sales. The successful applicant must have the ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely and effective manner and have excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills to assist internal and external personnel with inquiries, schedule and run meetings, and overall sales enablement. This is a very fast paced environment with a high volume of sales support needs and excellent organization skills are critical to this role. 

What You'll Do

  • Partners with outside Sales to enable commercial success: Generate and maintain sales information for reporting purposes as needed. Attend regular sales meetings, offering updates as requested and participating in discussions on process improvements. Provide support and training to salespeople and team members on relevant processes and systems, maintain accurate sales reference material and work instructions, assist in preparing sales proposals/quotes and client communications, and support Sales teams in achieving their goals as necessary. 
  • Facilitate communication among sales representatives, sales management, leadership teams, and various subject matter experts (SMEs) across Azenta to support multiple sales opportunities and projects concurrently, ensuring customer and internal deadlines are met. Collaborate closely with various departments across Azenta to ensure smooth business operations. By fostering strong interdepartmental communication and cooperation, this role enhances overall business efficiency and supports sales operations effectively. 
  • Collaborate with Legal, Finance, and business teams to execute customer agreements, terms and conditions, and secure relevant business unit approvals. 
  • Update, maintain, and monitor customer pricing within internal systems to ensure accurate quoting and order booking. Work within establishing pricing approval guidelines to ensure pricing is audit compliant and implemented correctly. Monitor and scrub expired pricing as needed.  
  • Assist with client Purchase Order management through documentation review and triage, on-demand reporting, and review of applicable sales orders and invoices. Contribute to the systemic tracking and logging of POs/payment method information within each client’s secure account. 
  • Develop analytics for existing clients within GENEWIZ  to provide vital insights for decision-making. By examining client performance metrics, this function supports commercial and business leadership in making informed strategic choices to drive growth and maximize profitability. 
  • Facilitate customer quote requests and generation of sales orders through third party channels and online marketplaces. Maintain clean order booking and recordkeeping utilizing Salesforce Opportunities for these incoming orders. Collaborate with internal customer support teams, sales teams, IT teams, and invoicing teams to ensure smooth customer experience and accurate invoicing. 
  • Assist in maintaining and monitoring Salesforce opportunities, inquiries, and sales rep assignments, completing missing information, and uploading relevant documents.

  • Excellent Communication Skills in English with confidence to communicate at all levels from sales reps, sales managers, and customers 

  • A team player with a high level of dedication and responsibility for owned tasks

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills 

  • Self-starter and proactive way of working with excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize daily 

  • Excellent project management and time management skills 

  • Able to adapt to a strategic and fast-growing business 

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience required in a similar role such as Sales Support, Bid Coordinator, Project Manager, Sales Operations with experience of working in a fast paced environment. 

  • Experience in Salesforce or equivalent system preferred 

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, ideally in Business or Life Sciences, but not essential if a candidate's experience is relevant 

  • Experience in Life Science industry preferred 

  • Experience working in multi-cultural and/or global environments preferred 

  • Must be able to collaborate with sales team, business unit peers and staff in other GENEWIZ businesses
